Templates, My Flows, and restarting
Logic Builder gives you three different ways to change what is on the canvas:
- start a fresh flow
- load a template
- reopen a saved personal flow
Learners get confused when they treat those as the same action.
What New is for
Click New when you want a clean workspace.
This is the safest choice when:
- an older flow is already loaded
- you want to test a completely different idea
- you no longer trust the current canvas state
Use New before experimentation, not after the workspace is already confusing.
What Templates are for
The Templates tab gives you starter logic flows you can adapt instead of building from nothing.
Use a template when:
- you want a good structural example
- you are still learning how decisions and endings fit together
- you want to study a pattern before inventing your own version
Templates are not final answers. They are teaching scaffolds.
What My Flows is for
The My Flows tab is your saved-work list.
Use it to:
- reopen a flow you saved earlier
- switch between experiments
- confirm which version was updated most recently
The list also shows an updated time, which helps when you are deciding whether the current canvas is really the version you meant to reopen.
What Save actually protects
Save helps when you:
- named the flow clearly
- reached a stable point
- want to come back later without rebuilding it manually
If you made a meaningful improvement, save before loading a different template or starting another idea.
A safe working routine
Use this sequence:
- click New if you do not want old structure in the way
- name the flow clearly
- either build from blank or load a template
- save once the first valid version works
- use My Flows to reopen that stable version later
This keeps your learner history understandable.
When not to keep editing the current canvas
Stop editing the current flow and restart when:
- you are no longer sure which version you are looking at
- a template example drifted too far from its original learning purpose
- the workspace has become a mix of unrelated ideas
At that point, New or My Flows is usually better than one more patch.
